Damien Joyce, Clifden bar owner, operates DMJE Ventures Limited, whose primary interests are in commercial, hospitality, retail and office properties across Galway and Dublin. Lowry’s Bar in Clifden, a famous traditional bar in the west of Ireland, also comes under DMJE Ventures’ umbrella. The bar is the winner of many accolades, including Best Tourist bar in Connacht in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2022, 2023 and 2024 at the Irish Pub Awards, Best Traditional Bar in Ireland in 2015 and 2018 at the National Hospitality Awards, and Best Pub in Galway in 2025 at the Irish Restaurants Awards.

Lowry’s Bar in Connemara is popular for its vibrant, friendly atmosphere, live Irish music, and huge selection of premium gins and whiskeys. The bar stocks over 100 different whiskeys and has won the gold medal at the Irish Whiskey Awards on five separate occasions.

Through Lowry’s Bar, Damien Joyce, DMJE Ventures Limited owner, has been sponsoring local events for many years and for the last 15 years has been the primary sponsor of the local GAA club. DMJE Ventures and Lowry’s Bar are also long-term supporters of one the longest-running arts festival in Ireland. Clifden Arts Festival has been held annually for nearly 50 years, and in 2025 it will feature a variety of performances, workshops, walking tours and much more.

In terms of charitable endeavours, DMJE Ventures and Lowry’s Bar are long-standing advocates of the work done by Cancer Care West, running an annual fundraiser for the charity that raises significant funds.
